Women are a source of power in any society. Here, English-speaking women in Africa have come together, pooling their minds and experiences to build a resource book that can not only lead to real transformation and betterment, but that is relevant for real women all year round.

When you take a closer look at the Bible, you find countless women facing a range of challenges. Look at Hannah, Rahab, Ruth, Jael, or Abigail: each faced different hurdles, and each were able to handle them.

In this African Women Devotional Bible, women from various African backgrounds share their unique stories that will touch your heart. The list of pertinent issues discussed in this Bible is endless: wife inheritance, balancing life, loneliness, healthy lifestyle, widowhood, parenting, submission, leadership, and many more. This devotional Bible speaks God’s words, but in an African voice.

Designed to help women conquer daily battles and translate the Bible to their own environments, this Bible includes a reading plan which will help readers interact and engage with God’s word each day, for 365 days. The women’s devotional gives in-depth study notes which make reading easier to understand, contemplate, and act upon. Consequently, you will be greater informed and better armed to walk with purpose through life.

The inclusion of citations for reference purposes is a major component of this Devotional Bible. More often than not, we want to compare various texts in the Bible with what we are reading. Here, this task is made easy; the research has been provided. Maps are available to ground and contextualise this study, thereby making it less abstract.

Through this devotional Bible, you will acquire knowledge of God and his redemption, you will understand the ways God has fashioned you to manage yourself and your personal relationships, and you will be equipped (through stories similar to your own, written by women grounded in God’s word) to face the issues in your life with new confidence and understanding.

The African Women Devotional Bible will be published in 2021 by United Bible Societies. It is designed and typeset by 2K/DENMARK and features illustrations by Anita Rupeika. The trim size is 156 × 234 mm. Bible text is set with the 2K-designed typeface Bible Serif 9,5/9 point.
